George Flannery

George Flannery

Partner/Director, Bcom, CA

George is a Chartered Accountant and Director of Flannery Tait. George has an extensive background in accounting, with 24 years of experience in both public practice and commercial accounting roles.

George’s particular area of expertise is in dealing with the compliance and everyday issues facing small to medium size businesses and is admired for his straightforward and honest approach.
Having worked as a finance manager in a large NZ company he has the credentials to coach clients through any financial issues they may have.

Mark Tait

Partner/Director, DipCom, CA

Mark joined Flannery Tait in 2001and was appointed Director in April 2011. Mark has a varied and extensive accounting background, having initially worked in public practice, he then spent four years teaching at the University of Otago, before gaining experience in the tax consulting division of a Big 4 accounting firm. He then spent several years in corporate accounting, including working in London.

Mark’s passion is to provide you with peace of mind. His background enables him to explain the detail behind your financial reports and tax returns in terms you can understand. As well as providing clear responses to your questions as swiftly as possible, Mark is always on the lookout for ways to improve your financial position.

Practice Manager

Paul joined Flannery Tait in 2006. Paul brings a vast amount of accounting knowledge to our practice and has worked in public practice for over 30 years. Paul’s professional nature, logical and precise work approach is what his client’s value most. Paul’s areas of expertise are Trusts and Estates, as well as technical review work.

Outside of the office, Paul is an avid member of the Alexandra Rotary Club and dedicates his spare time to helping with community projects and organizing club events. You’ll also find him playing badminton, riding his motorbike, or on the golf course.

Christine Oliver

Office Manager

Chris joined Flannery Tait in 2009 and has been an essential part of the team ever since, taking care of the Administration/HR side of the firm. No problem is too small for Chris, and her willingness to help is the first thing you’ll notice when you enter her office.

As a Certified Xero Advisor, Chris knows the ins and outs of Xero and can help with any queries. Chris also administers all of our client’s payrolls.

Chris helps husband Phil with their adventure tourism business and is often support crew to Phil’s downhill mountain biking antics. Spending time with family is a high priority for Chris. Other spare time is spent exploring the beautiful landscapes of Central Otago with friends.

Helen Jarvis

Chartered Accountant

Helen is an experienced Chartered Accountant who joined Flannery Tait in 2018. Her practical, thorough and humorous nature ensures that you’ll both be on the same page when it comes to crunching numbers. Helen is responsible for the preparation of financial and management accounts, GST and tax returns.

Helen’s just as busy out of the office as she is in and this includes holding several positions on committees throughout Alexandra. Helen splits her time between community events, supporting her boys on the sports fields, afoot in the surrounding hills, or enjoying a night at the cinema.

Kathryn Dalgety

Accounting Technician

Kathryn joined Flannery Tait in1997 as our Receptionist/Office Junior. Since then Kathryn has gained diplomas in Business and Accounting and Accounting and is a member of the CAANZ as an Accounting Technician (AT).

Kathryn has extensive knowledge of Xero and her expertise in the office includes preparing financial documents, GST and tax returns.

Out of the office, Kathryn loves hanging out with her family, or at PT Central, where she moonlights as a Fitness Instructor. Kathryn is also studying Sports and Exercise Nutrition.

Kelly Moloney

Accounting Clerk

Kelly initially joined the team on work experience while she while studying for her Bachelor of Accounting and we were delighted when she agreed to join us permanently in February 2019.

Kelly assists with the processing of balance sheets, financial and income statements, GST, and updating the financial database. Kelly is light-hearted and creative by nature, loves a challenge and is looking forward to growing into her accounting role with us.

Patti Haig

Accounting Clerk

Patti joined the team in 2002. Patti brings a strong administration background with her and has worked in accounting since 1997. Patti has a great sense of humour and down to earth persona, and makes accounting work more relatable to her clients.

Outside the office, Patti can be found enjoying family get-togethers with her husband or enjoying some of her hobbies, which include walking and enjoying the outdoors.

Sue Murdoch

Accounting Clerk

As one of our longest standing Accounting Clerks, Sue has accumulated an extensive amount of knowledge over the past 25 years and enjoys working closely with clients to reach their financial goals. Sue’s areas of expertise are farm accounting and GST.

Out of the office, Sue can be found enjoying a good book or babysitting her two grandchildren. She also enjoys exploring the outdoors, on a bicycle, with husband Ron in tow.

Sandra Waitoa

Sandra Waitoa

Personal Assistant/Administrator

Sandra is one of the team’s project managers and plays a crucial role in ensuring the team keep up with current policies and practices within the firm. No problem is too big for Sandra, and she thrives on finding solutions using a calm and systematic approach. Her main areas of expertise are invoicing and debtors, company administration, in-house processes, and systems and tax administration. Sandra’s excellent communication skills, along with her honest, meticulous and caring approach to her job is what our team and clients value the most.

Sandra is very family orientated, and she devotes most of her time to her family, including managing school sports teams. Sandra also enjoys going to the movies and girls trips away.

Nicole Charles

Nicole Charles

Receptionist/Administration Assistant

Nicole is the newest member of our team, having joined us in April 2019. From operating the phones to assisting with administration duties, Nicole is at the hub of Flannery Tait. Nicole comes with an extensive background in customer service and administration and brings a bubbly, enthusiastic and helpful disposition to her role.

Nicole loves being in her kitchen, cooking up a storm. Nicole also enjoys being out and about with her sons or socializing and catching up with friends.
