Mark joined Flannery Tait in 2001 and was appointed Director in April 2011. Mark has a varied and extensive accounting background, initially working in public practice. He then spent four years teaching at the University of Otago, before gaining experience in the tax consulting division of a ‘Big 4’ accounting firm. He then spent several years in corporate accounting, including a stint in London. Mark is a Chartered Accountant with a Postgrad Diploma in Commerce.
Mark’s passion is to provide you with peace of mind. His background enables him to explain the detail behind your financial reports and tax returns in terms you can understand. As well as providing clear responses to your questions as swiftly as possible, Mark is always on the lookout for ways to improve your financial position.

Mark is a keen sportsman, usually training for some sporting event and has completed four marathons and five half Ironmans to date.
Mark is involved in numerous local organisations, including the CO Motorsport Club and was treasurer of the Alexandra Blossom Festival and the Alexandra Rugby Club.
Mark is also a bit of a petrolhead. When not dreaming of racing around a race track, you’ll also find him doubling as a supportive parent and a coach at various sports events around the region for his teenage children.
